Default Honours student seeking Stephen's help

This message is for Stephen (I hope he gets it!)

    Hey there Stephen,

My name is Candice, I'm a creative writing honours student from Australia, seeking your help on my thesis which relates to one of your novels. My thesis is on the relationship between the artist and the Muse as represented in popular fiction, and I'm using Misery and John Fowles' The Collector as my comparitives. I was hoping I could get hold of you just long enough to see if you knew of any academic writings which relate to Misery, or if you had something to say on the topic.

If there's anyone else out there who is reading this message and wants to chip in, by all means do so.

    Thanks heaps!

    Respectfully yours,

    Candice.

Steve's schedule is quite full right now so he probably would not be able to personally assist. This information had been posted to the site some time ago. Perhaps it will be of help to you.

For the person seeking King criticism: there's tons of it at the University of CA, Berkeley. If you're interested, go to www.berkeley.edu, and hit up their Melville library search. They can get you copies of what you need if you ask nicely.

You should seek out the edition of The Collector that contains an introduction by King.

    Hi,

Welcome to the MB, and keep posting!

If you have time, I'd suggest you read the Dark Tower cycle, which has some bearing on your author/muse question IMO.

Also Samuel Taylor Coleridge vis 'The person from Porlock' and Kublai Khan.
