The Stanley Hotel

I'm doing research on personal paranormal experiences at the Stanley Hotel for my new book. I was hoping that Stephen King could provide me with his experience since he came up with the idea for The Shinning there. If anyone else here has had experiences there I would love to hear their stories as well.

Sorry, he's got a very full schedule right now and isn't adding any new commitments to his calendar. His idea for writing The Shining didn't come out of any personal paranormal experiences at The Stanley, though. You can read about his inspiration here.

Ms. Mod, I remember reading somewhere, that he was also influenced by the movie " Burnt Offerings" when he was doing the Shining. Do you know if this is accurate?

I have chatted to folks who insist that Stephen had a paranormal experience in the Stanley Hotel. I begged to differ and they,basically, argued to the point of rudeness.....even when I sent them the link of his inspiration. Seems some folks want to believe it bad enough, they will ignore all evidence to the contrary.

Good luck with the book. I think it would be alot of fun writing a book like that. You must hear some very interesting yarns along the way.
