I'm reading this book for the 3rd time and can't get over how awesome this Novel is. King really brings these characters to life. Also if you haven't gotten a chance to listen to the audiobook yet Jeffrey DeMunn does a fantastic job narrating. His voices are spot on for each and every character IMO and he really gives the a life to the book that one doesn't get when simply reading the novel. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes audiobooks. Even if you're not into them it's well worth the listen and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Our Inkslinger is blessed with a gift of being able to put life and life-like characters on paper and make it seem as real as our everyday existence...his images are so vivid, I wouldn't be a bit amazed to bump into Stu Redman at the Ford garage or Pennywise at a local carnival-coss if that happened I would wet myself, scream like a little girl and want my mommy...
Of all the authors I have read, none draw me into the character as much as Sai King. You almost become one with them. As GNTLGNT said, it is a gift and we are grateful he shares his gift with us, the constant readers.
OMG When Henry finally see's Duddits again it's so emotional. The way King describes how Duddits has become so sick and frail and how Henry didn't go to Alfy's funeral but sent a card instead. It's crazy how sad I feel and it's not even real. This book is so touching it's crazy. Absolutely love it though none the less!!!
yeah, amazing story. i don't think i've ever laughed at horrible situations as much as i did reading this one. i'd be interested in listening to the audio just to hear someone pronounce the word waspishly. say it out loud. sounds like you're talkin native-american, or you have a r/w problem, like the fudster
Dreamcatcher [/I]is fantastic. And all of King's characters are very vivid and lifelike. The reader can't help but feel for them. To me, that is what seperates his work from all the rest. You know, I've heard people say that they couldn't "get into" Dreamcatcher. I just can't understand that!
