    I was taken by the contrast between the priviledged baby Joe and the horror that was Blazes childhood and subsequent life.Life is so down to the cards you are dealt and what you do as a result.

    Very true. Blaze is one of my favourite stories.
    I've never empathised with a character as much as I did with Blaze.
    And considering the antics he got up to in the story that is not an easy feat for a writer to accomplish.
    This story made me cry a few times. Clayton Blaisdell Jr had a horrid life, from beginning to end.
