I know that the book had really nothing to do with The Tower, but I just felt like it was seeping through in the work. All the talk about pink grapefruits and other subtle things. Anyone else get that sense?

The pink grapefruit thing gave me pause as well. However, other than a mention of Derry, I'm not sure there are any explicit connections, unless...
i didn't really notice any "connections" to the dark tower saga....but i notice in the novels list in the forums Under The Dome is listed with other books relating to DT...on another thread someone has a great list of connections posted, i am going to reread alot of books based on that list lol just to check it out
There seems to be a connection to both the DT series and to IT.
The 'high faces' the higher beings that were responsible for the box bear a striking resemblance to 'Pennywise'... who in turn is an ebony version of the Red King from the DT series.
Is it possible that this 'race outside our reality' has red males and black females? (Resembling the ants that Barbie and the others were talking about while within the glow belt)
" See this now, see it very well "...King opens one chapter with those lines. Also, I found it rather intriguing that, as Juniors brain tumor worsens, one of his eyes becomes blood red--one red eye, nudge nudge, wink wink...
I didn't get any relations. sorry for not being much help.
