hi quick reply- 1. "The Unedidited Version of "The Stand", 2. "Firestarter", 3." Insomnia". And if you are not familiar with the pen-name Richard Bachman- read the "Bachman Books "a collected edition- 4 intense and disturbing stories set during Viet Nam - timeless and engaging. After You are done with these, You MUST read "Salem's Lot" , and "The Talisman" before you get into "the Dark Tower" between those books you'll get a real inside look at at references that will pop up and seem personally seem special to you as you read the "Dark Tower" series. Hats off to you to have so many new multiverses to discover. P.S. if you like painting, the process and the metaphysical aspects of it-Duma Key was VERY personal to me -as a visual artist-almost as if he looked inside my memory "Warehouse". Thankee Sai Hile to me Gunslingers".........Sincerely Yours E.Freemantle AKA Beambounder AKA Ron. PEACE
Hi,
I was under the impression that the original poster wanted to know the novels RECOMMENDED by Sai King, rather than those written by him, in which case I would suggest you read Danse Macabre and On Writiig, and watched for recommendations in his EW column..
Long days and pleasant nights

When a single mind has so much in it to display without repeating the same plot twice; and in such formats as Long novel epics and comical short stories, I am at a loss to find a favorite three. And totally not because of shortage of good material, but more saturation of said good material. When I grow up; I wanna be like Stephen. I loved all the feature length movies, TV mini series[except Tommy Knockers], and the "creep show" shorties, I could not think of three exceptional books because they are all credible by their exsistance with a track record and history.
"The Long Walk" is the best novella I have read. "Storm of the Century" (was also a very good movie). "Duma Bay"
