Disappointment in Blaze

Dear Mr King, I want to tell you how much I enjoyed your stories, Dolores Claibrorne, Misery and From a Buick 8. From a Buick 8 knocked by socks off with fear and I could not stop listening to it. But this book Blaze upset me to no end and made me very disappointed in you, as you are a very talented writer. The book was a disaster due to the foul and red neck language, I was listening to it as and audiobook and after an hour I was so discussed I threw it in the trash. I feel you are to good a writer to degrade youself in such a way.

I wish you had given Blaze more of a chance. We live in a world where people use profanity, it's just words. I feel that King was creating believable characters, being authentic. I'm sorry that you were offended, but you missed out on a great story. Stephen King does not degrade himself by developing flawed and realistic characters, he just proves that he is a great writer, every time. Show some love. Rose x

I too felt disappointed with Blaze. Not in the quality of the writing or anything like that, but with the characters themselves. I had a hard time getting into the story, and the ending wasn't much either. I had no sympathy for the characters. I felt like it was an exercise in the back story of a news story.

The language, really, was the last thing on my mind when I was reading it.

Ohh c'mon FBJ. That's like saying you would have been offended that George Carlin used foul language in concert! Uncle Stevie ain't Mother Teresa, he write we all live, and yeah to stay true to "real life", he gets salty-depending on the character(s). There was rough language in the books you mentioned too, and as a card carrying member of the RED NECK nation-I find it offensive you would characterize us all as users of foul language. I have two college degrees and work in two white collar professional jobs, but my neck is still as red as they come and I say it with pride! I mean this with all the love in my heart...get over yourself!
