    Default Hile Gunslinger!

Just finished reading the "Wolves of the Calla". Kept me awake for nights..Absolutely rip roaring outstanding stuff. Here in India, the publication of the Tower series has just about begun so my tower quest is quite recent. I am most excited about "Songs of Susannah" especially since the book ends with a promise of meeting a certain author in Maine! Wonderful plot! I wonder if any other author has ever done such a book in book and meet the author in fiction format. Super work, Mr. King. Thankee Sai.

    We are always well met.

Song of Susannah has an awesome shoot out scene... I wish I were reading the series for the first time

    Hi,

I know exactly what you mean, but, believe me, it's even better the second time around.

And the third. And the fourth. Ad Infinitum (Ka is a wheel).

    Long days and pleasant nights

Oh yes, still a great read the second time over (i've only made my way to the wolves for the second time). But I read the series, like the op, when all the books were already out, back to back during a summer. I can't reconstruct that same feeling I had, being a guest in the Tower's world for the first time and for such a long stay. I've tried: I read all my fiction with the lights off and a small reading lamp now (a habit picked I picked up from the series). Still no dice.

Truly the apotheosis of fine story telling -- a great time in my reading career.

Wolves is an awesome piece of work.I enjoyed seeing my old friend Don,I had often wondered what became of him.I knew ka tet would fight to protect the children. His vision of the roonts were haunting. The growth spurts were true horror at it's best.I love all the gunfights.

We are indeed well met, sai. This is my first journey along the path of the Beam, and I am completely at the mercy of the Wizards Rainbow. Currently on the Wolves. Part of me will be glad when this journey ends in the clearing so I can sleep more than a few hours a night again, but I will leave a part of myself with the characters.
