    Lightbulb Insomnia from Insomnia

Is it just me or have any of you got Insomnia while reading Insomnia? I found by the time i'd read 100 pagers I couldn't sleep any more. To the point that I had to stop reading the book. It took me over a week to get my sleeping patterns back. I know it was all in my head and I loved what I read but I had to stop reading it so I could get some sleep! Did anybody else have this problem?

    Hi,

    Aye, I did indeed.

And I've read Insomnia maybe four or five times and suffered from it on each occasion.

    Long days and pleasant nights

I'm afraid my insomnia was self-induced. I was just so engrossed in the book I didn't want to put it down.

The book cures my insomnia every time I read it...until I get a little past the halfway point. The "slow buildup" technique is satisfying, but a bit to slow in this book.

As it's been said, "The mind is a monkey" and the sheer strength of King's writing induces a state in us, that we otherwise might not be afflicted with. For me, I never used to be leery of storm drains-but ever since IT-I keep half expecting a clown to speak to me. Yikes!

I'm currently 43 pages into Insomnia. A lot of great books are slow in the beginning, slowly grabbing your attention, and leaving an eerie feeling in your mind. I do not feel like getting Insomnia from this book(pardon the pun). I don't think anybody feel like or even likes getting Insomnia. Pardon the pun again.

Funny you should say that. I have the same type of insomnia in the book...I wake earlier and earlier each day til I'm sleeping 3 or 4 hours a night. And sometimes when it cycles really bad I reread Insomina. As a matter of fact I just finished a reread.

I couldn't agree with this more.

Insomnia is a perfect example (to me) of a book where you keep turning pages in the hope that it will get better . . . only to run out of pages before it ever does.

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz . . .
