The Shining-nightmarish

I finished the shining approximately at 6:35 p.m. on January 26,2010.
I am sitting up terrified to go to sleep. All i see repeating over and over again is Jack Torrance repeatedly hitting himself in the face with a croquet mallet. The description is deeply appreciated, for i am one that is meticulous to detail. This has satisfied my horror craving for a while.

The chapter where the figurines inside the clock perform lewd acts upon each other scared me years after I had read it.

My girlfriend lent me the book after she read it with the caution, "Don't read this before bedtime, it scared the bejesus out of me." I laughed and started the book that night. I was up until 3 AM because I had to read "one more page" and then kept the lights on the rest of the night because I was to scared to be in the dark. It was the longest 3 days of my life until I was able to finish it.
