I enjoyed reading it. It was worth my time. But it wasn't my favorite King book.
I finished it yesterday and I loved loved LOVED it!!! A book hasn't gripped me like that in a long long time, I couldn't put it down
Just wish I hadn't read it so fast but at least now I can sleep again![]()
Wasnt my favorite King novel but it made my xmas. I was so busy at work,I never had much of a xmas but my neighbour got UTD for me and every night I came home, I had some King to look forward to.
I enjoyed the book as i do most of Sai Kings, it made for a better read for me because of listening to him in person explaining why he came up with certain characters and who he loosely based them on. Also him reading some of the pages was a blast, i could wait to finish what he started.
I really loved this book for so many reasons. One, I grew up in a small rural community and I get the whole "follow the leader thing". Two, I believe that people like Junior and Senior have far too much power in small towns, with the ability to turn things upside down with just a few "calming words". Folks from small communities recognize the barrier, but it is an invisible barrier...barely there, yet so hard to break through. Im sure that Im reading far too much into this story, but this is one of SK's stories that not only held my attention but once again, demonstrated how "small" people can become when their little world is turned inside out/upside down...and yet how easily those people can adapt to a new environment and new circumstances and truely be the sheep that follows the shepard.
I'm re-reading this book now. It feels like I'm having lunch with old friends! When the Chief was at the scene, helping Jackie after she ran into the dome, my mind was screaming, "No! Stay away, Chief! Remember your pacemaker!"
