Steve asked me not to say anything until Scribner has given the thumbs up and I don't have that yet. I'll get in touch with them to see if they've figured out when it's okay.
I think one reason people see it as being "so quickly" that one book is released after another, is because they forget that it's been a lot longer since the book that has just been published was finished. UTD was finished about a year ago in its first draft. At that point Steve moved on to new projects and the edits for UTD were done while writing the new material. He's been working on several things, including the rewrite of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County since finishing UTD.
I was just thinking to myself that I needed a new Stephen King book.
Though I haven't yet bought The Colorado Kid on my Nook, so I do have one in the hole to get me through.
You know, part of the issue for me here is that I read UTD in a weekend and then it was all "well...that was excellent...what next?" and I started raiding the ones I've already read, but secretly wishing for a new one.
I'm such a selfish girl.
But I was thinking it'd be 2012 before I saw anything longer than a short story and not even one of his much loved short story collections!
I'm excited.
**dances in her chair**
I don't care if it's the Wind in the Keyhole, Dr. Sleep, a Collection of short stories or a book on the migratory patterns of Billy Bumblers.
Whatever it is, I am now waiting somewhat patiently and with great pleasure to see what is next!

Wow, Mr. King is a bit of a workhorse, isn't he? Err, not that I'm complaining; I'm supremely happy the creative juices are flowing.![]()
He writes a lot ?![]()
I thought this post read 2010 planes![]()
