    Default Misery books

Do you think Stephen King should actually write the books Misery's Child, Misery's return and the other Misery books

Not for me personally, I never really got into the Misery book itself, I think that was the point of it too, it would be interesting and I would end up reading it for sure as I do adore the book and everything that goes along with it, but i'd rather Sai King concentrate on other things!

Only if it were written tongue in cheek. Never been a fan of the erstwhile lurid Romance novel-don't get me wrong, I enjoy a heaving bosom as much as the next feller-but don't need a squeaky bedspring romp every other page-give me story...

No, I'd rather he concentrated on something else. However, it would be severely cool if he had an open contest for an unpublished author to write the first Misery book! He could hand-pick a panel of judges and make the final decision as to which book would win. Just think how many new ideas (and readers) this could bring to the romance novel industry! Ms. Mod, can you pass this idea on to the big guy?

The Misery books sounded to me like not much more than tacky romances. I'd prefer if Mr. King would right me another fine horror tale, thank you very much.

I agree, the Misery book sections in Misery were the parts of that novel that I was kind of bummed out on reading..

    Hi,

Hmmm, have you read Wizard and Glass?

    Or Lisey's Story?

I too am voting no. I'd probably read them if he wrote them but likely wouldn't enjoy them. While SK has proven himself a worthy author in other genres besides horror, I'm not sure he should try to pull off the bodice-ripping, pulsing manhood vulgarity of the romance novel. Those books are just funny, IMO and would somehow cheapen our beloved SK if he were to try it.
