Default Fave director(s) of a king film and director's that should go king?

I'm sure I haven't read everyone of King's books yet and that I have not seen everyone of the Films that were made from his work, but I definitely have seen and read the majority. So I know who my fave director are.

    1. Brian De Palma
    2. Frank Daranbont (sorry if I misspelled)
    3. Mick Garris
    4. Rob Reiner
    5. George Romero
    6. David Cronenberg

and the directors I'd like to see take on his work.

    1. Alfonso Cuaron
    2. Neil Marshall
    3. Quentin Tarantino
    4. Ang Lee

So who are your faves and hopefuls?????

DePalma's vision in Carrie is a big part of what makes it one of my favorite horror movies. Only he could have thought to use a split-screen in those scenes and used it to such great effect.

A couple of my favorite directors are Tim Burton and Quentin Tarantino. Any King books they might direct would definitely be unique. A Tim Burton It, Duma Key or Lisey's Story would definitely be creepy. Quentin Tarantino... Under The Dome?

David Lynch is good with the disturbing stuff but for some reason I'm not coming up with an SK match for him.

I like BURTON'S early work alot and his animated movies are incredible. But(and I don\t want to make anyone mad) I've seen three movies that he either remade or took from a classic book and he crucified them. I hope Alice in Wonderland turns out well for HIM, because I think that when he's on point he is genius.

Frank Darabont is probably my fave...he did The Mist, Shawshank Redemption and Green Mile. He is simply fabulous.

Alfred Hitchcock would have probably done a great job with Gerald's Game.
I like to see what Sophia Coppola could do with it, providing she didn't stray from the book's story line too far, if at all.

I think James Cameron would do a fantastic job, as he's great on bringing special effects on. I would surely see him direct a remake of Needful Things, which was not at his full potential in the original imho

Would love to see the two Stephens work together (Well Stephen and Steven).

Steven Spielberg for me. With under the dome on the way (hopefully), looks like I might get my wish. JJ Abrams passing on the Dark Tower was a major disappointment (and mistake I think).
