For those of you who are fans of the novels by Robert B. Parker (the Spenser series, the Jesse Stone series, the Sunny Randall series, and the Appaloosa series), the author died this past Monday, while sitting at his desk and working on another novel. I've been reading his novels since the early eighties and literally addicted to his "Spenser" series. I loved the television show when it was on for three seasons back during the mid-to-late eighties and have become a big fan of the Jesse Stone TV movies that air about once a year with No Remorse due out this February or March on CBS. According to the article I read about Mr. Parker's death, there are also still several books due out in 2010 that the author had already finished writing. The next "Jesse Stone" novel will be out in late February and the next Appaloosa novel will be out in early May. I hope there is still one last "Spenser" left to be published this coming Fall. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Robert B. Parker will be missed by his thousands of fans, and I think a lot of us are feeling a deep emptiness inside of ourselves over this tragedy in the literary community.
