Don't know how many of Uncle Stevie's books you've read, but his books don't always have happy endings or expected endings. The books write themselves and it ends how it ends! BTW, if you didn't like this, DO NOT read the DT books. You'll scream!
Even though most of SK's books are nice and long, by the time the end comes I usually don't want it to end. I thought the end of The Cell was appropriate; very SK like.![]()
hi maurice. give it another shot after a time. i did. let it age a bit and go back to it. or not. either way, the ending is the same, but you might ask yourself if you do give it another go, why.
I think a reader often feels the need for a definite resolution and when he doesnt get one, feels cheated. I often fall victim to this feeling initially when I come across an ending like this, but upon reflection will usually be cool with it because in a way this particular plot device gives the reader a certain "control" over the story because he can draw his own conclusions
I liked the ending of Cell it made me think! Omg is everything going to be ok, will everyone turn back to normal eventually or will they stay sort of changed and in that strange state of mind. But tbh i loved the whole book!
I wouldn't mind a sequel to Cell myself but choose to think that when the mist clears everything & everyone will return to normal. On a sidenote I found a signed copy of Cell in a Bridgton Maine bookstore recently. I was thrilled.,but gave it to a friend I was with who has no signed books. But NOW he does!

I just finished this book and loved every minute of it, even the ending. That's not saying I didn't want a more definitive ending but, then again, I didn't want it to end at all.
I don't understand why a lot of people have such a problem with Cell. I loved it, couldn't put down!
