    all of them. old man and the sea, you bet! there was a movie, i think spencer tracy played the part of the old man. i read the posts in the sg. check it out you get a chance. read a lot of them. haven't read a lot of them.

    I'm not sure how "classic" it is, but I love To Kill a Mockingbird.
    Also enjoyed Bram Stoker's Dracula
    I liked the Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn stories, too.

    I've read a ton of classics. Some are so overrated (or maybe I just don't have refined taste); others were wonderful.

    what I find a lot of times with classics is, the writing and the mechanics and the language are beautiful works of art--and then the story just sucks.

    My all time favorite book is The Devine Comedy. I love Homer's"The Odyssey", Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood"

    The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
    Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
    Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky
    The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov
    The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde

    And of course, Stephen King.
    He IS an American Classic imho.
