I'd like to think that I am a forward thinking person -- looking ahead instead of looking back, but I think it might be time well-spent to take a few moments to think about the past year and think about the memorable events, categorizing them, putting them into perspective and ponder how they affected your life. If you have more than one significant event, feel free to list all.

For me, it was joining the gym, losing 16 lbs and keeping a nutritionally and physically fit lifestyle. I've struggled with depression all my life and I've always underestimated the power of physical activity until now. So for anyone feeling blue, go to the gym or go for a brisk walk, you will feel better. If you're happy already, get active anyway just because it's good for you. Honest.

One of the most significant things I did this year was meet Stephen King at the Atlanta UTD book signing!!!!
Every time I think back to the details, I smile so big!
I touch his signature in my book, and I feel euphoric!
Meeting him was one of the best events of my life.

Most significant thing in my life from 2009? I quit using drugs in March, and have been clean and sober since then. Yeah, that's got to win over anything else that happened in 2009.

    Personal growth.

After some fairly serious health care issues with my Mama (& those of a pal of mine, where I was the legal appointed caregiver of record), and the ensuing hospital administration, various billing & customer service departments & the oh so enjoyable insurance company tap dancing that inevitably follows, I never once threatened a single person in a decision making position with slamming their head in a drawer (copier, coffee pot...)...not one.
A tactic of last resort that has worked surprisingly well in the past, and I'm not saying it hasn't crossed my mind...why just this morning as a matter of fact, but I've grown.

This is the new me >>>----- when dealing with suits (hurts like hell), even of it does take more time, and so far seems to be much more stressful, the bees to honey approach is my new motto, because I've grown.
(that & Mama told me to be nice or else)

    Going back to work.

I love my kids, and I truly feel blessed that I got to stay home with them for a few years. That said, I have a whole new appreciation for adult conversation, the commute, and the feeling that I am doing something constructive.

The most significant thing that happened to me wasn´t a happy thing... My dog, Astrid, a weimaraner died on December 30th, of a kidnee disease... I´m still very sad. She was an amazing dog.

In 2009, I found out that I could write sentences which make sense to other people exept me. After that discovery, I've started to write my own book.

The realisation that i dont have to bother with people that use or take people for granted! And i havent for 7 months now, and im not missing anything at all. Have postive people round me instead of negative. Thats my big thing for 2009, 2010 here we come!!!!
