I have a really good idea for a book and am hoping that describing it here might be all that is needed to get the wheels in motion. Basically, I'd like a bunch of authors from different genres and/or with different styles of writing (SK an obvious inclusion) and give them a premise that they must use to write a short story. Then, publish them all together.

For example, Australian author Paul Jennings (who mostly writes quirky, humourous tales for kids) has written a tale called "No is Yes". It features a man who has raised his daughter in isolation, teaching her a language opposite to English. Yes is no, no is yes, boy is girl, girl is boy, fork is chicken, etc. Pretty clever one, actually. The ending gets you thinking. I'd love to see SK's take on this and would gladly read a collection of tales based on this premise.

What do the rest of you think?

What authors would you like to see included and what other premises/stories do you think deserve the treatment?
