    Default book guess the

    Hello King fans!
Im trying to put tougher a complete list of all the books I have read. And I remember a story about a elderly man living alone in the woods and I think he finds some mystic glowing egg out there. Maybe he just dreams about it. And my question to you are: is this a Stephen King book?

    Thanks for the help

It sounds like The Tommyknockers to me, except it was a lady, not an old man, who found the object. It turns out to be a flying saucer.

I don't think this is a Stephen King story. It's not sounding familiar at all.

I'm thinking that you are mistaking having READ a story like this by SK and having SEEN SK in a segment of Creepshow. If memory serves SK portrays a country yokel living byhimself in a bare ramshaked shack out in the woods. One night he hears and sees something and goes to look. He finds what appears to be a meteorite that has broken open and is ozzing glowing grren goo. He gets it on his hands, face etc. and by morning time SK is sitting in his shack covered by some kind of green moss. Does that ring a bell?

try winter moon, by koontz, blandin. must be enough info on-line to tell you if that might be the story you're thinking about.

The episode I was telling you about is as follows
    from Wikiepedia
"The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill" (Second story, originally titled "Weeds", adapted from a previously published short story written by King)A dimwitted backwoods hick thinks a newly discovered meteorite will provide enough money from the local college to pay off his $200 bank loan. Instead, he finds himself being overcome by a rapidly spreading plant-like organism that comes off the meteorite. Stephen King himself plays the doomed protagonist

    Hope this helped
