There should be a reboot of the franchise, completely redone with today's special effects and stars, and everything that would entail.

A remake would be hit or miss in my opinion. They could include more machinery that goes haywire besides trucks. How knows what they could do with cell phones (not necessarily like Cell) and MP3 players.
