Please tell me the ending is good!!!!!!!!

I've had a deep obsession with The Dark Tower books and characters since I started reading them (22 years ago)...and I was really mad about the ending...I mean, I ranted and raved with my sister about it (she's a DT Junkie too) for quite awhile...then I went back and reread it. I came to the conclusion that it was obviously the right ending, the only ending...and I am at peace with that. I've read the last book three times now, and have lost count on all the others. rose key is absolutely correct about the journey being the reason we read, so get reading and enjoy every step!

Hi, I've just started book 2 of the series and am thoroughly enjoying it so far. So WITHOUT TELLING ME THE ENDING please just assure me that the end is satisfying and worth ploughing through 7 books for.
It's just I've had a few problems with the end of some of King's books *The Stand*

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the ending. Did I say that I loved it? Oh and by the way I loved it, just incase I didn't make that clear. As someone else has mentioned already, the story is about the journey and not the ending but it the ending when you get there will blow your mind whether you love it or hate it.

There isn't any such thing as a "good" ending. I'm not even sure if there are even "endings" anymore. Stories are about the journey, not the destination. I was satisfied with how the story was brought to a close, but I know opinions vary.

Just before the reader gets to the end, Sai King breaks off into "narrator" mode and warns the reader to stop where he is and not read the ending. Just leave off where Roland reaches the tower and gains entrance. He advises us to recognize that we if we have so enjoyed the trip, then is the destination really so important? In a strange way I wish I had followed his advice. Really though, who would be able to restrain themselves? LOL. Anyway, having said that I think the ending was absolutely correct, although for me personally it probably ruined the prospect of an entire re-read. Keep on truckin'!

The ending is perfect. I've read on other forums how so and so didn't like it, but IMO, that is what makes this author such a genius. I don't toss that term around lightly. I really consider him to be like the John Lennon of the literary world. I believe I read a quote from Mr. King in which he stated all things serve the story. Or in this case, you could call it the beam. I am not a spoiler person, so I would never give anything away because I believe the joy of reading is watching the world in your mind and on the page infold in front of you, or perhaps a better way of putting it, is inside of you. The Dark Tower novels deserve a second reading, especially after reaching the final (although I hold out hope for the new one he is discussing writting) book. Just trust me on this. Read on and as one poster said, enjoy the journey. Long days and pleasent nights to you.

I've personally changed my opinion on the ending and "dt7 in general" at least 10 times. I went from liking it , to hating it , to accepting it , then back to liking it. Either way the dark tower books are the best series i've ever read; once you finish the third book your practically duty bound to make it to the end so have fun and try to avoid getting spoiled in any way. The Last thing you want is someone telling you what happens

I totally agree with you!!! I just finished the last volume of The Dark Tower today and find it hard imagining myself reading another book, another story than the Story of Roland. It has been the best story I have ever read and the ending is... I don't know. Maybe it is hard to decide whether I loved it, liked it, hated it, will get used to it, ... just because I never wanted there to be an end in the first place. Just the idea of not picking this book (any one of the volumes) up tomorrow makes it hard to enjoy any ending to the story. But after thinking about it the whole day, I think the ending might be the only one to make sense.
I wish you long days and pleasant nights reading this story and don't cheat by reading spoilers, this story is REALLY worth reading it in total innocence.

I was a little disappointed when Jake cut up Oy and made fajitas with him and no that doesn't happen.

Read the books, they are soooo worth it! I have read the entire series 4 times...i love them. I think it is his best work.

I agree that "the Dark Tower is some of Mr. King`s best work. It should be, I waited over twenty years to finish that story! If you ask me it`s not long enough....
