    Default Flipping off the world.

    Hmmm...is the title clever?

    I think so.

Lol, anyway, I just finished re-reading the Talisman and it was just as entertaining as it was the first time. And yeah, I teared up for good ol' Wolf all over again.

I have a question about the mechanics of flipping/migrating.

I know that when someone has a twinner the act of flipping means that his body and mind teleport into the body of his double in the Territories, wherever it may be; people who dont have them like Jack simply teleport into whatever part of the Territories that correspond with where they are in his world. That much I know.

What I want to know is if this is correct:

When the flipper is in his twinner's body and moves 100 feet in either direction and then reverts to his world, his body will materialize in an area that correpsonds to the distance he traveled while he was his twinner.

Btw, 100 feet in the Territories translates roughly to 1,760 feet in the American Territories.

yeah, clever title. i'm trying to remember if anyone who had a twinner flipped. have you read black house? seems like there's a scene or three there that might come into play on this question of flipping...or wait now...yeah, okay sunny, sunny gardener...this is a tough question, i think the numbers are throwing me for a loop...i think you got it right.

    Lol, thanks.

Morgan, Sunlight, and Parker had Twinners and flipped. The mechanics with flipping get confusing with Morgan. In one instance he's lying in bed in his home and flips into the Territories where Morgan of Orris is riding along in his stagecoach. When Morgan flips back into his own world, he's back in his bed. If my understanding of flipping is right, he should have ended up some distance from home.

Actually, Ive just started reading Black House and how flipping is described there also led me to posing my question to the board. One particular instance is when Fred is reminiscing of a date with Judy when she suddenly disappears from his side and reappears between two men who had gotten into a car accident.

    Thanks for the reply!

I think the flipper moves to where their twinner is. So when Morgan Sloat flips to the Territories into Morgan of Orris' body, he goes where Morgan of Orris is, and when he flips back to America he ends up in roughly the same place Morgan of Orris is in the Territories. So I think it's kind of intent based. I would think it would almost have to be that way for safety purposes (my own rational brain kicking in on irrational subject matter I guess).

Is it discussed anywhere if someone flips into their twinners body, and the twinner dies what happens? I've been wondering about that off and on for a couple of years now. I just picked up the book to read it again to see if it's discussed anywhere and so far, I haven't seen it. Any thoughts on it?
