    Default Lucid Dreaming

I have this phenomena. I know when I am dreaming and take control of my dreams at night. It is like another life that I live while I am asleep. One of great adventures, horrors, happiness and grief. The weird part is that I KNOW it is not real, only a dream. Does anyone else out there have this??

I love to do this. I find it a great escape from the normal day to day stuff. I have looked for ways to increase my chances of having lucid dreams. One thing that I have read that helps is when you realize you are dreaming you have to remain calm because you can easily wake yourself up if you don’t.

Strange thing about my lucid dreams is that I almost always know that I am dreaming, yet can not wake up if things get rough. Sometimes my dreams move so flawlessly into reality that I am not quite sure where the dream stops and reality begins. I had one dream and my son was calling for me frantically, I woke and ran to his bedroom without knowing that I had transitioned. I found him sitting at his computer with this look on his face that said "mom you ok?"

I'm a lucid dreamer too, have been since I was a child. I've also had recurring dreams since then, sort of like watching a movie play in my head. I am lucky that I can wake myself from a dream if it becomes bad. I can also return to a dream just by thinking about it if I choose too. Even now at nearly 30 my mother still asks about my dreams as I never forget them, and she says they are like stories waiting to be written. Sadly, I don't quite have the talent to do that, so they will just stay in my head.

I have this myself. Sometimes it is scary, but recently it helped me to overcome some problems I was having with my sister. I was told by a friend who is a psycic that if I know that I am dreaming then I can do what I want and make the scary dream to my favor. Also that nothing in my dream can huurt me as I am in charge. So I began saying this to myself as I went to bed. My sister and I still don't get along, but my dreams no longer trouble me.

By definition, I don't think I'm a lucid dreamer, but I am able to wake myself up when I need to during bad dreams and/or nightmares. I will let something scary or freaky get right to that point of pain or impact or whatever (the boogeyman is opening the closet door!), and just say to myself, "open your eyes," and I do, and all is well.

I'm not lucid dream often . But one night I dream about many bags and they suddenly fall over me and I woke up from my dream because it feel like it was real and that was little scary. But I don't know if that can count to a luicid dream.

I am glad that I am not alone in this. Perse, just knowing that you are dreaming and being able to wake yourself up is a type of lucid dreaming. The weird thing about this is is that lucid dreamers are conscious all the time...

Yeah, I'm definitely not aware I'm dreaming until the dreams becomes scary or uncomfortable. I recently woke myself up because in my dream my two front teeth floated out of my mouth and it freaked me out. So I can do my "open your eyes" bit whenever. Hmmm....maybe I am a lucid dreamer but I'm not aware of it....how freaky weird it that impossible statement!?
