Does anyone know if Stephen King has ever lost a child? Quite a few references in his writing make me wonder?

But, if I recall correctly-"Pet Semetary" was a primary way of dealing with the thought of losing one of his children...

I think SK has probably thought about what he would feel if he ever suffered such a terrible thing, and puts those potential feelings into effect through his writing. It is such a devastating concept that it is powerful to write about and make others realise what they have, they might not have the next second you know.

An incident with his son, Owen, running toward the road and nearly being hit by a truck was the inspiration for that scene in Pet Sematary but none of his children have died.

That was a powerful scene. My friend and I went to the theatre to see that movie. When that scene came, she jumped out of her seat and went to call the babysitter to check on her son, who looked and was at an age similar to Gage's. It took her a while to recover and go back and watch the rest of the movie. I couldn't blame her..... But I've got a gray kitten I named Church. I hope that he doesn't reach the same fate! It's cold here! lol

I think that Mr. King's writing can reflect on lost children and/or lost childhood. If I'm not mistaken, SK had a rough upbringing and his childhood was marred by several events. The death of a child, childhood, innocence.
