I can relate.. I've got 50+ books still on my bookshelf that need to be read.

What do I want to read next year?

I want to start and finish the Terry Goodkind series (laws of magic), a few Neil Gaiman, Necronimicon by HP Lovecraft, a Dickens (not sure which one yet, probably a Tale of Two Cities), Pride and Prejudice and a reread of Duma or Lisey's Story and for sheer enjoyment the Sookie Stackhouse series.
    I hope I'll make it.

I've read more books this year than in a long time, and my choices have changed as well.
I may just be growing up finally.
I'm getting to that point where I can appreciate the important things.
What ever the meaningful things are for you, appreciate them and experience them to the fullest.
    Back to my reading now.

I like your thinking! I read 1 or two books every week, but that's only after managing to master the skill of reading on the stationary bike... But I do have thousands of books more waiting for me out there and I too wish I could spend more time with them and out of the office.

I've read quite a lot of books this year. And I hope to read more next year! Though, now I don't have much time for reading, I hope I'll have it soon. And I have a big list of books I need to read. There are Insomnia, Dark Half and Duma Key by SK, Thomas Harris's Red Dragon, Paulo Coelho's Brida, a few books of John Grisham, some books of Dean Koontz and many others. Also want to read some books of writers whose books I have never read before.

Still about 20 or so books by Steve that I didn`t read, so that`s #1...

But, that`s not the real question for me, I always read anyhow...the question is: How much will I write ?

Well, I got a Nook for Christmas and my goal for this year is to make it through as many of the free classics I can.
I have now read every single Stephen King novel available to me. I'm plotting to reread the Dark tower Series, It and all of the Short Story collections in this coming year.
As to other stuff, I want to Read The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, 'Tis by Frank McCourt, Ground Zero by F. Paul Wilson, Delilah by India Edgehill.
I also want to check out some Flannery O'Connor, Truman Capote and more Shirley Jackson, specifically The Lottery.

And whatever else crosses my path.
This year, as part of my resolution to get the kids involved in charity, I intend to keep track of all the books I read and the kids read.
My plan is that around Christmas next year, we will donate 1 dollar for every book we read (that I will be saving as we go along) to a charity that I'm going to let the kids pick out. Together. I already know the showdown: ASPCA for T1 and JC because JC wants to do whatever T1 does. and T2 will probably choose a children's charity, like Unicef. Ah, the arguments that will occur.
In then, end, I'll probably just end up splitting the donation.
The plan is two-fold. 1: While I don't have a lot of money, I do somehow always get given money for books. Be it from my parents, my friends or various other sources. I am incredibly blessed in this way. Books keep me sane. And with as blessed as I am, I can do my best to find a way to bless others. 2: By involving the kids I will be getting them excited about charity which is a passion of mine and I will also be getting them more excited about reading, my greatest passion. And! If they are reading, what will I have more time to do?!?! READ! I am so clever, I scare myself sometimes.
So, that's both my reading plan and my new year's resolution.
