    Default Loved it!

My husband got me this book for christmas and I have spent the past 2 days reading it - I think it's a fantastic story!

One query though - Rusty initially meets Thurles with his young chick when he's sitting on a bench (as Thurles and Caro are en route to Pipers) - and yet when Thurles volunteers his medical services Rusty seems to not know who he is at all.

    Am I misreading that bit?!

Anyway, great book, great christmas present, great forum, great author!!!

I absolutely loved this book. I think it is one of King's best. The only bad thing is, I couldn't stop reading until the end, and although I never skim over anything because I believe Mr. King has a way of interjecting important and touching things in every paragraph. The one that stuck out the most for me is when the wife looks at the photo and realizes how fragile life is. That is what I love most about Stephen King. Aside from the great stories and his obvious talent, every know and then I think he throws in these universal truths, but if you aren't careful, you miss them. I have gone over that passage so many times. Obviously, the book is great and great entertainment, but I think his insights into the human condition and life in general puts him head and shoulders above the rest. He doesn't bang you over the head with them, but a careful constant reader can find them and learn from them, I think anyway. I know that I did.

Thanks for another great book Stephen!
