Default A Question for Mr. King, if he ever reads

I don't know if Mr. King ever reads these things on the message boards, but i just saw a picture of his house in Bangor and i was wondering if his agent made him get that gate, the one with the spider-web designs and bat wings, like to play up his dark persona a bit or if he just thought it was neat

It was Steve's choice but it wasn't a publicity stunt. The Kings needed a gate around the property (you'd be amazed how many people ignore the Private Property signs) and wanted to make it something unique and represented them.

I love the design of his house, it's beautiful imo! Of course people will link it to the work he creates, but even if you ignore that, it's a fantastic gate to have outside your property

Hmm I am sure there are many people (none who I would like to name on here...but they know who they are lol) who would of course couldn't resist ignoring those signs... I do have to admit, if Sai King lived anywhere near me, I doubt if I wouldn't also join those who ignore those signs.. but all in good faith and just to have a little sticky beak.....

I'm surprised he doesn't need security, to be honest. All that stands between him and a fruitcake is a gate with bats on. I don't know how he sleeps at night. Love the house, though. Very spooky.

The house is a reflection of the family-it suits them...the gate and fence on the other hand, reflect the ignorance of society in general...sure I'd like to meet the guy, but walk onto his property without so much as a "by your leave"...that requires an IQ in the negative numbers...

funny...I was looking for the "like" button. I run on my local beach (in the general vicinity where I believe the Kings winter) and frequently think how cool it would be to meet either, or ideally both Stephen and Tabitha. I've enjoyed reading both their works and I adore that they are so obviously happy in their marriage.

I had a similar reaction, though, to a previous poster when I read at the end of "Full Dark..." that Mr. King once stopped to help someone with a flat tire...that shows an incredible faith in his fellow man, given how incredibly well known he is.

No one needs a gate with spider web-designs when he has a bird spider in his house...trust me
