Remake of true grit

My granddaughter Jordyan tried out for the part of Maddie Ross in Memphis, and got a call back I hope she gets a chance to to it. True Grit is my favorite western of all time.
Jordyan is Maddie Ross, sure of herself, strong and fearless. Prayers going up she gets a shot!!
I am excited about the movie whether she gets it or not I look forward to a western classic being out there again. I think Jef Bridges is a unique choice I would have picked Tommy Lee Jones..lol

Good luck with your daughter and the movie. Like you, I think Tommy Lee Jones would be better for the John Wayne role. Still, Jeff Bridges is a fine actor and it will be interesting to see what he brings to the role.

I hear that the Coen Brothers are directing this one..

They are my all time favourite directors and I'm sure they'll see the talent in your granddaughter!! So lets all hope that Joel and Ethan make the right choice!!
