A Return To Salem's Lot

Has anyone seen A Return to Salem's Lot? It wasn't a direct sequel to Salem's Lot, and King wasn't involved. It seems that Larry Cohen, the film's directior, took the basic concept of a town called Salem's Lot that's infested with vampires and ran with his own ideas on it. I heard King never really commented on this film so I don't know if he endorses it or not. It was actually not a bad movie even though it had a few continuity errors, and the acting wasn't Oscar winning. It's worth the price of a movie rental though.

Personally, I didn't care for it. Not sure why, though. It just didn't hit the right strings with me.

The biggest problem with A Return to Salem's Lot is the fact it uses the name Salem's Lot, mentions Stephen King in the credits (saying it is based on his work) and actually has the gall to use a picture of Barlow on the movie jacket.

Otherwise it isn't as bad as you might think. The vampires mostly drink blood from cows and none of the people killed during the movie actually return as vampires.

This is also one movie that has never made it onto dvd.
