It Was 236 years ago today...

...assuming that my arithmetical skills remain intact, that the incident known as "The Boston Tea Party" took place, when a group of colonist protestors boarded three ships carrying a cargo of tea which had been taxed, and destroyed the tea by throwing it into Boston Harbour.

The incident of course, was part of a larger chain of events and protests against British rule which eventually led, less than two years later, to the American Revolutionary War beginning, again in the Boston area.

Absolutely none at all.
I'm pretty sure this was just the beginning of iced tea, not to mention American innovation.
I mean when life gives ya lemons cut a wedge & squeeze it in, or make a nice pinwheel and stick it on, the rim of a cool refreshing glass of iced tea.
So it's all good!

When I was in Boston last year, I was looking forward to seeing where the Boston Tea Party actually happened. So I figure there will be some big deal there to visit and buy a fridge magnet. Uh....no.....it burned down before we got there. I guess they were planning on rebuilding it at some point.

Interesting though, we are experiencing Tea Parties all over our infant Nation these days. There is something about all that taxation that gets under the skin.
