Default A nightmare on elm street

I can't wait................they can set up a whole new franchis..............for the 5th or 6th installment of this series they should use PETER JACKSON's screenplay he wrote.......NEW LINE went with FREDDY'S DEAD by Michael DeLuca and Rachel Talalay which I liked...........but it would be cool to have both........it would be like PREDATORS............ ROBERT RODRIGUEZ's screenplay....

I am actually really excited for this movie and I usually hate remakes, especially the ones Platinum Dunes do. But while the original had a good storyline, the special effects were awful, the ending was horrible, and sometimes it just got lame. That is when I think a remake is called for and I hope this one is executed well. I'm also pretty excited about Predators but after the AVP movies I'm not going to get my hopes to high.

I kind of like the trailer...but that doesn't say much tho....

And the director said it wouldn't be a parody...only horror. That's good in my book.

...................I hope they keep Fredy's back story the same............... That's what scared me the most the first time I saw 4 and 3.......when I was a Kid..........but or the fact that he gets accused for the wrong thing makes him killing everyone in their sleep seem alright I guess....... but why change a great cinematic Villain............I just look at this film as a set up for more sequels with Haley as Freddy................

I think so too...nothing more frightening than a face in pure panic.

I'm soooo NOT waiting for this remake. I fear great disappointment. The original was such a well-made classic, that I doubt it if any modern-time effect-packed remake can ever match it.

Bust I will see it, of course.

"The bastard son of a thousand maniacs" should have been left as the Icon he is...hate to see the originals(which weren't all hits BTW)re-worked/re-treaded, but I know that's the Hollyweird thing to do now!

I'm always up for a a remake, as long as it uncovers something new, or if the original has become a little dated. The original Nightmare had a lot going for it but it became more watered down and eroded and jokey as the series went on. If they manage to make Freddy scarey again, I'm all in favor of it.
