Default For Insomnia fans: something unsettling

Safe from Pennywise and the Crimson King by exploring Derry only via Google Maps, I happened upon something strange.

Luckily, life did not imitate art....

To the north of the image, between Lincoln and Larkin Streets, the satellite camera just happened to catch an aircraft passing over the Civic Center and Auditorium. I zoomed in on it but could find no traces of catfish in the area.

In Insomnia a plane is used to crash into the Bangor Civic Center where a Pro Choice rally is being held.

Wow now that is freaky. Good find. Low flying aircraft too.

Oh man, I sort of knew Derry was sort of loosely based on Bangor, but didn't realise there were so many real connections. If I ever get to the US, it will be one place I have to visit. Not to hassle Stephen King, just to snoop and visit story landmarks. Like the Paul Bunyan status for one...

Sigh I can see myself spending some time on google street view. Good view of the Paul Bunyan status from there.

Is there a thread somewhere here on Stephen King story locations in the real world?
