Not sure if there was a better place to put this or not, but I figure I gotta make Ms. Mod earn her raise, right? (Hopefully you did get one Ms. Mod, you need one with yappers like me around, hehe!) I did like the movie, and won't say too much about it so that those who haven't seen it won't get the whole thing spoiled for them, but I really bet that I'd like to book so much more! It seems to me that the movies always leave something out of the story. Like I bet the book tells about how the mist happened, which the movie doesn't say much, only gives you an idea. But either way, I'm hoping that maybe Santa will be good to me and leave The Mist under my tree this year, too! Dang, my Christmas wish list on books just keeps getting bigger and bigger.......

Ugh. Oh how I know what you mean about the book list growing larger and larger. It's like if you get one SK book you have to get 5 more because they are all so good.

A.E., I don't mean to add to your longing for a written version of The Mist, but it can be purchased in a collection of other short stories called Skeleton Crew. I count twenty-two short stories total in that book. All are excellent reads. And the entire collection is very affordable, especially when you get the paperback version. Or maybe you could find it even more reasonably priced online.

It's been a while since I've read it, but I think the story leaves even more questions unanswered than the movie. It's never explained where the Mist originates, and the ending is much more open-ended.

hi there, i got the movie mist but i haven't watched it yet but i have been wanting to get the book
because even if there is unanswered questions, you just have to guess at it like a quiz. well that is
my own opinion on the movie plus the book. every time i get stephen king's books, there are times
i don't read them all but i mostly enjoy having his books on my bookshelf. i'm a fan of his that's why.

I saw the mist for the very first time and it was very disturbing.Even though is was a good movie.it was very distasteful in the end to watch the father kill his son.Being a father myself of a 5 year old it really hurt beyond words to see that event happen.Anyone who is a a parent would understand.I just voice my opinion to help with what im feeling right now

Overall, I preferred the book, especially the ending, but I really liked the movie in virtually every other way. I appreciated that it was faithful to the story (except the ending), and that all of the effects were realized very well. It doesn't bother me that there's no scientific or paranormal explanation for the mist or what it contains. Sometimes our imaginations must do their part.

I watched The Mist for the second time saturday night, and I guess I made a mistake there. It disturbed my sleep, although it didn't do it the first time. Or was it that little bowl of chips I had while watching? Don't know. I had nightmares about armies of giant bugs biting me in my backyard while reading a SK book.

I actually liked the movie better. It explained more and had a better ending. Also, it was less schlocky.

The Mist is playing on my TV now. I always enjoy this movie.
Took me a while to get used to the ending but I've seen it quite a few times and everytime I accept it a little bit more.
I don't think I would change the ending. I hated it at first but now I feel it fits well.
