Smile Under the Dome is a captivating study of human nature in an extreme situation.

I am still reading Under the Dome and I am truly drawn into the vivd portrayals of many differing human natures and psyches. I was asked during an education class which famous person ( dead or alive) I would want to have dinner with - Steven King, of course! I truly appreciate all of his works, and I am rarely disappointed or left wanting more. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world, even when the world has not always been kind to you.

In many respects, I thought Under the Dome was thematically very similar to "The Mist." Both stories are about the crazy ways humans will behave, when subjected to fear and potential deprivation.

It truly is one of his best works IMO, in fact once i get a chance I will be reading again. It was captivating to see how when a political figure was out of reach from punishment he slyly became a dictator, taking out anyone in his way.

I felt the same. I also found it frightening how he'd tighten his grip on the town after each attempt to break it failed. Really well done.
