after reading the DT series and, I have to say, I'm having a difficult time getting into this book. Maybe I'm just fatigued. Will it pick up or should I wait a while before trying to dive in again?

I had the same problem with Insomnia. I tried reading it twice, each time getting a little further in to it. I picked it up a few months ago and was finally able to read it cover to cover.
Hi,
Yes, I'd persevere and the DT connections will become more obvious the further you get into it, and it does pick up.
Long days and pleasant nights
I found this one at a book fair for 3 dollars, took it home, and also had a hard time getting into the story. The pace does pick up after a while, and it turns out to be an interesting read.
Thanks everyone!
I read this one when I was 14--wow, nearly 16years ago--and can't really remember the details.
I know it took me a while to get into it. Think it's due a re~read.
Wonder if it will cure my insomnia?![]()
Wow, interesting to hear how others had a hard time getting into this book. So far, it is my favorite SK book. I read it over 10 years ago and I have been wanting to read it again.
Sometimes I feel ashamed when I read a book and then years later I can't remember a thing about it. Anyone else? I remember the basic plot, and have some mental images that stay with me but the fine details are lost. sigh.
I am re-reading Insomnia (about #4 re-read) ad i just finished the DT series.
Dunno why you finding it slow.. it picks up rather quick IMO Maybe a DT series withdrawal? ;-)
