Default A text error in Under the Dome

I've tried to contact the publisher, but to no avail...just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that at the bottom of page 125, Julia Shumway's dog's name spontaneously changes from "Horace" to "Hector". It's been bugging me since I noticed it, so I had to tell someone!!!

We know, but thanks. It was discovered too late to fix before the books were printed.

Since the muse speaks, and Sai King writes from this, maybe, just maybe the change for Horace to Hector "was meant to be".

There have been a few baddies. Towards the end of my reading today, (P. 492, Section 19 [interesting] of "Feeling It" I was very sidetracked by Andrea crashing on the "chaise longue.")

Chaise lounge? It's not embarassing, but it is a bit irritating.

chaise longue is correct -- longue is French for "long" and this means a long chair. It has degenerated into "lounge" but there's nothing wrong with the original term.

Oh, I have a great idea! Maybe Steve should let all of us proof read his work before he sends it to the publisher/editor!! We wouldn't let anything get passed our well trained eyes! Am I right? I think it's an excellent idea!

I sit corrected. I imagine it was 'longeur' originally, and became 'lounger,' as in Barca.

It didn't work for me, as I am not reading the French version. Just write "chaise" and leave it at that =)

...my only problem, with the text...

    was that...
    at 1000+ pages...

    there just wasn't enough 'text'...

maybe, one day, when all the right-wingers stop bleating on about how far left king suddenly has become wise up, they'll clamor for the unedited version...
