Default What's Your Favorite Book of the Year?

You can vote for your favorite book this year (from a very short list) on USA Today's site. Under the Dome is there, and is being beaten, as of right now, by Dan Brown(in the lead) and Kathryn Stockett(2nd place).

    The list mostly stinks, imo.

    Hi,

I agree and thankee for posting the link, Sugar Marie.

I thought the Dan Brown was a stinker, and I've just voted for UtD.

    Long days and pleasant nights

.0015% (and I'm being generous) of the website's target audience will read all the books listed. Three percent might read part of one.

I might be able to finish UTD and two others, and I read like a mudsandwich.

Stupid poll. It makes me angrish.

Thanks for this Sugar Marie. My vote, of course, to UTD. My sister just finished The Help and enjoyed it. Dan Brown IMO is a waste of paper and ink.

Of course I voted for Under the Dome. Just finished it last night. Although I admit I haven't read any of the other books.

I only think the list stinks because I'm prejudiced in favor of most of the books that I've read so far - only one of which was included in the poll.

I guess it's a pretty fair representation of what hit the best seller lists this year, but as a rule, I'm just not into self-help and celebrity tell-alls, which are the ones that really turned me off here.

No offense to anyone, but I`ve just checked out the NY times bestsellers list, and James Patterson is in the #1 spot for 2 weeks in a row now.
Again, with an Alex Cross novel.
I don`t understand that, I really don`t understand that he has so many fans.

I don`t like Dan Brown, never did, but in comparrison to JP, his writing is Nobel worthy.
Not to mention SK who beats both of them by miles and miles.

Man, a third grader writes better stories than JP, and yet...

    JMO.

    PS:
Voted for UTD, of course, have still around 200 pages to finish the book, but didn`t read anything better this year from the new books.

Oh yeah, i`m surprised that Denis Lehane`s novel " The Given Day " is not on the list.
A very close second to UtD, IMO.
