Default Dark Tower-- to read or not to???

I just finished UTD and am looking for another book to read. I need a story that draws me in and is fast moving, not drawn out! Is Dark Tower that kind of series? Can someone give me an idea of what it's about? THANKS!!

definatly read! But maybe not quite yet. If you a constant reader Mr. King you already know that he spends time with his charactor building. My suggestion would be a short story for now, so that he has a chance to realy hook you. Seeing as I don't realy know your reading habbits tho, just read whatever tickles yous fancy!

Thanks Sissy. I have read MANY SK books and am very aware of how much time he spends on character building. I'm ok with that, just want something to really hook me in, like the Dome did!

    Hi,

    Indeed.

If you're looking for fast pace try Cell, or The Gingerbread Girl from Just After Sunset.

The Dark Tower is marvellous (best story in world literature ever IMO) but many find the first book, The Gunslinger, slow (not me) so when you're ready to start DT buy the second book, The Drawing of the Three, at the same time IMO, NOBODY finds it 'slow'!

Good luck, and you'll enjoy whatever you choose.

    Long days and pleasant nights

IT would be a better choice for a quick drawing in.

Desperation is really fast-paced, and one of my favorites.

I've wondered for awhile at so many folk needing the pace to be fast in their books. It seems like when someone complains about a book, their number 1 complaint is "too slow paced". Anyway, The Gunslinger has some slow paced parts and so do several of the Dark Tower books. I think it is worth it anyway to delve into the Dark Tower Series.
If you're just looking for a quick, fun book though I would NOT recommend the Dark Tower Series. Cell, Dark Half and The Regulators are good ones for that kind of read.

The Tower Series is Good Readin'. For one thing, it's done (maybe). You don't have to wait between books.

You can--seriously--start with #2. You can even start with #4 if you skim through the (pretty lame) Blaine stuff to the Backstory. Either way, you'll want to jump back and go straight through again, so don't lend your books out.

"The Gunslinger" by itself is my favorite.

If your an SK fan than life is not complete until you've read the Dark Tower series. The novel "IT" will also draw you in quickly, it's one of my favs.

Thanks everyone!! Many of you have recommended It and I have read that. LOVED IT!!

For Crimson King... the reason for my request of a fast moving story is because I enjoy books to quickly draw me in, otherwise I get bored and never finish!!
