Where does it go?

I loved the build up in this book. I thought it was disturbing, sad and scary all at the same time. Definitely I felt this book was King dealing with his own personal questions about death (I believe he began writing this book in a hospital bed after the near fatal car crash)and loss and the loneliness that follows all mixed in with a ghost story. But it seemed like it ended very abruptly and with little follow-up. I was a bit lost at the end with the main character coming out of his travels to another world up from behind his couch as if from a maze in a fun house.
I liked the overall tone in the book but I got lost. Any thoughts on this title?

Just finished this one last night. I really enjoyed it but I too felt like the end was a bit abrupt. I wasn't sure what the motives of the entire town were. Was it all about money and the power it brings?

I think it's one of the few books King ended just RIGHT. Lol. It didn't seem to have ended abruptly to me. As for the character's fantasy travel, I think it was either a vision or a dream. A vision and/or dream both he and the little girl shared.

I may have to re-read this one. It baffles me to this day. Again, though, like many King books; maybe I just want more?

I loved the ending. The folorn loss and him giving up writing, not because he no longer can't (looping back to the Nicholas Nickelby (I might have the wrong book lol) references for the book club review) "because I choose not to"

I thought the ending was very fitting, and I like "feeling a bit lost" in the end of a good horror book. Happens to me quite a lot in Mr. King's books - where things are left open and yet, somehow, I feel no urge to understand it all.
