    Default My case for Dr.Sleep!

As all of us know, SK recently asked us which book we would like him to write. SK mentioned that the new Dark Tower novel will not directly be about Roland and Cuthbert (although they will make an appearance) I don't know about you, but a story featuring a telepathic Danny Torrance sounds alot better than a story that isnt even about Roland's adventures. Plus, DR.SLEEP has a better chance of being made into a movie. But in the end, does it really matter? The hardest thing for a write to do is sit down and tell himself hes going to write a specific story. Both books may or may not work. Who knows, maybe he'll write both

    Hi hansel.
It's my understanding from Ms Mods previous posts that both books will be written eventually, the question is which one would Steve's constant readers enjoy reading first.

I also voted for Doctor Sleep, as an older Danny is an interesting concept to me. The probability of which will be made into a movie doesn't feature into my choice though. I'm only interested in reading the books, and if a decent movie is eventually produced that is merely an added bonus.

    Hi,

    'May not work'?

    I doubt that.

I read a post yesterday where Ms. Mod said that he is planning to write both but wanted our input as to which one we would like to see first. So either way, it's a win win situation.

I agree. It's kind of a bummer that the DT book won't be about Roland and crew. Kind of takes the magic out of it for me. I vote Dr. Sleep.

I was thinking as I was reading Black House of how cool it would be if the next Mid-World book is actually the next book of Jack Sawyer's saga, him now being pretty much confined to the Territories and such at the end of BH, who knows... just a thought that has been buzzing around in my head for a bit

Ms. Mod will be counting your votes (and of course it all means nothing if the muse doesn't speak). King said it himself. But then again, if King can write about a scary clown and a little boy coming back to life after being buried in an indian burial ground, I think he can pump out a new DT book. The sequel might be harder

I've read The Shining four times, and I keep getting a chill whenever I see the line "Unmask!" I think that a sequel to Shining would sell pretty well, and as many people have said, it would be quite interesting to see Danny Torrance as a middle-aged man. The wee child that he was in the movie and mini-series will always be the one I envision in my head!

Cool Re: My case for Dr.Sleep!

I want to see both books in the near future... no matter which comes out first we can all expect the other to be worth the wait. Did anyone else hear or see something about a 2nd book maybe called black house 2?? i hope i wasn't just wishing, this would be a great story to continue

Way bigger fan of the Dr. Sleep idea. I love DT. LOVE it. But it would be like if Tolkien had gone back and added a book between Return of The King and The the Two Towers. It seems like a slightly strange idea, and isn't following my favorite Ka-Tet. My love for Stephen's work is all about character not the world, and DT 4.5 sounds like it takes place in a familiar world but with little to do with the characters I fell in love with. As for Danny, I'd love to see where he's at. Can't wait.
