I've recently finished my first novel and I wanted to know if there was anyone on here who might be a literary agent or have contacts in that area.
I'd greatly appreciate any information or help!![]()

Congratulations!
I have no contacts, but I wish I could help.
Congratulations! Like mojo, I have no contacts, but I would help if I could. Best of luck to you.
Congratulations! I have no contacts, but my suggestion to you would be to do tons of research and narrow your list of literary agents to a few, and then try to find a creative way to get their attention.
Hi,
Congrats big-big, Matthew.
Good luck!
Long days and pleasant nights
Congratulations!
No, I don`t know anyone, but maybe some agents are checking out this board and you will get lucky.
You never know, like Roland says " There will be water if God wills it."
Good luck.![]()
Congrats, and best of luck.
Congratulations Matt!
Sounds like you need a copy of Writer's Market 2010. It will provide thumbnail listings for pretty much everyone in the business... and from there you can do the research to see which agent would be the best fit for you. A subscription to Writer's Digest magazine wouldn't hurt either - quite recently they published an article on 21 agents looking for new (not previously-published) talent.
You probably also want to do some research on query letters, since few agents are willing to thumb through a 300+ page manuscript on a cold call. Be sure to research each individual you want to submit through and make sure that your query matches their submission guidelines.
So the good news is that the creative labor is over... now the business labor begins! But it's really not that scary. Just don't lose hope. And most importantly, don't forget to continue your writing throughout the process. Don't hold back on your next novel; John Grisham's career took off with his second one, after all.
And again... congratulations!![]()
The September "Writer's Digest" cover is 'Get an Agent: 24 Agents Looking for New Writers.'
They might still have links/resources on their website.
