    Smile Water on Moon

    Hi everybody,

Recently the Nasa (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) detected water in a crater on Moon. I think it is a great advance for the humanity, because if the water is ancient, the scientists can to study the history of our Universe, and also will be possible the criation of a lunar base, where astronauts will may live and send aircraft with more facilitie for other planets.

What do you thinks of this event and what this represent for our future in relation to Universe?

That was a very interesting presentaion...I think the water is mostly dirty ice and such from the cosmos...however, if Nasa discovered an underground source that produced this water on a regular basis, it would indeed have a profound effect on the future of the earth, for starters...don't know about the universe...
    Thanks!

I was intrigued by this discovery but I have to agree with Anni, the data does not seem to indicate an actual "source" on the moon.

In other news, when I see the title of this thread it always makes me think of those jokes we had as kids about book authors

For some reason, I just didn't get too excited about this discovery. I kind of expected it. It's only some hydrogen and oxygen smashed together after all. I don't know what the significance is anyhow because it appears the amount of water would be so miniscule that we wouldn't be able to utilize it for much anyhow. I'd rather spend money on a moving super telescope that we shoot off into the heavens and it keeps sending images and data from deeper and deeper into the universe. I really need to know what's out there. I know the moon is there so, for me, it's not much of a discovery anymore to keep going back there to analyze moon rocks and soil samples.

It's time to look way past the moon.

It raises questions, some of which are uncomfortable. Hmm ...

That conditions on the moon are such that water exists is an interesting and potentially useful discovery; would love to know the source.

And I thought it was "Yellow Spots On The Wall" by I P Freely.
