I liked the DT ending. Thought it was perfect actually. And I prefer Roland as he is - with the hope. All the final-conclusion-Happy-Ending BS is too Hollywood style in my taste. Why do we HAVE to get a finale explanation and narration of everything? Let me dream my own ending for Roland.

I agree with you, Michael. Also, it looks like this will be a tale of Roland when he was younger...before he (re-?) appears in the apotheosis of all deserts.

    Hi,

    I was thinking about this.

    DT7 Spoiler -

If he reappears in the desert pursuing the man in black, he has arrived at a juncture which considerably post-dates the Battle of Jericho Hill, so how could he possibly pick up the Horn of Eld?

Is he condemned for ever to be returned to a point too late to correct his mistakes?

On a purely personal level, I would like him to be able to rectify the Susan Delgado situation, although I realise that would probably end his quest right there.

That highly beloved buttmuch will probably implement the word "apotheosis" again just to smitingly smite me with smitingness.

"It was a huge, crinkle-dried desert. Even Stephen Hawking couldn't comprehend the vast shredded glass of it. It was also kinda warm."

Ok, so "apotheosis" is shorter, but GD, no more of THAT word!

I cant imagine Roland stoppin his quest. Im not sure, but maybe The Man In Black put all these things in his way. But he wont stop, cos hes Roland

He's said many times before-the story takes him, not the other way around. Yeah, a clichéd ride into the sunset would have made for a happier ending-but not a true one. Roland will just have to remember the face of his Father a while longer!!
