Where did you hear it was a "rush Job"? The talk is, as he apparently said in one of his talks, that this will be an additional book that will fit into the series.

I said it was a rush job because he felt he had to finish the last three DT novels successively, and the ending to DT7 was not the ending foreshadwed in Browning's poem.
I LOVED THE ENDING .. i cheered , scared the hell outta my cat ...
doomed to repeat his history till he learns from it ... he picked up the horn ...
... however , till he chooses those he loves over his obsession ... i think he is destined to be tormented by Walter , again , and again ...
hhmm perhaps, one day , King will be compelled to give Roland the peace, the closure, he so desperately pursues
King can't GIVE Rolland anything, like the rest of us Steve is trapped by the story. And it nicely concluded the series, the stories were about the journey not the destination. The destination being a loop in the journey? Nice. If King gets a bug in his brain about how it goes when Roland gets there with the horn, we'll know. He wouldn't hold out on that, he likes us Constant Readers too much.
Rush job? I'd hate to see him take his time!!
That makes me laugh out loud
