    Default Map of Derry?

I don't know if any one else out there feels the same, but I love it when a book comes with a map of the location it is set in (whether a real or fictional place), so the fact that UTD has a map of Chester's Hill I find very exciting.
I know that there is map of Stephen's Maine showing real and fictional towns, but I was wondering has there even been a map drawn up for the town of Derry? Or perhaps Castlerock?

I know that there's a: Derry, Ireland or Scotland. If I'm correct, SK has roots there.

Derry, Maine is fictional and it's most likely he took the name from Derry, NH, although it's true he is of Irish descent. Many of the locations that are attributed to Derry can be found in the real city of Bangor, Maine. There may be maps of Derry or Castle Rock but I can't think of a specific source to direct you to to find one.

    Thanks Ms Mod & Dave.
Yup there's a Derry (or Londonderry, depending on whether you are nationalist or unionist) in Northern Ireland. I had heard before that Derry is loosely based on Bangor...interestingly enough Bangor is also the name of a town in Northern Ireland
I might have a dig around on the net and see if I can come up with any maps of SK's Derry or Castle Rock...

Thanks Charms7, that is great map, however...I was wondering if there was a more detailed map of the towns themselves? Such as a street map? Would love to see it if anyone has put one together...but after some time spent digging around the web I think I may have to give up or perhaps try and do one myself!

I find it hard to believe that some fan hasn't actually created a street map of Derry...No one has a draft?

Any takers? It's a great idea. Someone grab their copies of It, Insomnia, Dreamcatcher, and Bag of Bones (what am I missing?) and start plotting streets...

I tried to create a map while I was reading Insomnia. lol, I moved those twopid railroad tracks four times before I gave up.

I was so very happy and surprised to see a character list and map in Under the Dome, I exclaimed "Oh my gosh! There's a character list and a map!" and then all the people in the bookstore looked at me strangely so I paid for my book and left *sigh*

If we were allowed to make one request of SK, mine would be to include a map in the next printing of Insomnia lol.

I have made rudimentary attempts to map Derry in the past. Only ever got so far. I did learn to sort of just reference a map of Bangor for the most part. There are some landmarks that are placeable enough... but correlating some road names and such might take more cross referencing and determination - and some might, of course, be purely fictional anyway. Time allowing, I may try to see what I can work out beyond the basics.
