Like King once said, and i'm paraphrasing sort of, what is an ending but a door which can never again be opened. Enjoy the journey.

I liked Duma Key a lot. There were a ton of great, genuinely creepy moments. I thought the book was a nice throw-back to some of his older material I remember from my childhood.
Fantastic story and amazing characters. I read this in a couple of days by the pool on vacation this year, and was so sad to finish it. Only my third King after Dreamcatcher and Deadzone. Now getting acquainted with Roland. Feeling so frustrated as the second book is in the post and I have read the first few pages of it in the back of my edition of Gunslinger.....I want it now !!!!!!
ahh Stephen....the more he writes, the more we read!! loving it-just loving it! when I finish a book, another is stacked up & handy to dive into. :-)
I'm just now finishing up Duma Key for the second time. I have it on a CD. I clean house, paint, or whatever chore is at hand. Its 18 CDs. Plenty of time to get things done. I love the depth of the characters in his books. He my favorite.
I'm a long time reader of SK but he has one really irritating fault that makes it difficult to continue reading his work. Somewhere someone has told him he can just take the first 4 letters of a character's name and make a nickname. NO! NO! NO! "Wilf" for Wilford in 1922? No no no! Will or Bubba or something else; but no one would ever say "Wilf". "Thur" for Thurston (or whatever his name was) in Under the Dome. Again, what idiot would say Thur? Actually, Duma Key did a pretty good job on character names.
Perhaps your efforts would be better spent reading more slowly and absorbing the stories. Or maybe you just enjoy getting irritated and posting how people are "idiots". Either way I'm sure Sai King still loves you. Under the Dome is the SK book that I am currently enjoying, and although I have not yet finished, I have also not yet read anyone refer to Thurston as "Thur". There are times when he is addressed as "Thurse", but that surpasses your 4 letter quota for speedy nicknames and even adds a letter that is not present in the original name.
