Hi, I haven't been into any kind of forum before outside of my digital scrapping (i'm eclectic ok?) so this is kinda cool. It's all the same, only about one of my other faves (SK of course!).
I began reading Stephen King when I was about 10 (I'm 38 now) and my mom left a copy of The Shining out. Whew! that was COOL! And you wanna know how cool my mom was? She didn't say, "You're way too young to read this!" she said, "Did you like that? I have Carrie and Cujo, too, wanna read those?" Yay mom!
So I'm a totally addicted SK fan. I begin each year with listening to (I listen to books WAAAY more than reading them physically) The Talisman and Black House, and then the Dark Tower series, Bag of Bones, and then whatever other SK books strike my fancy (or are new to audible.com - seriously, NEED MORE!). then I move on to Dickens, and around this time of year I start getting really excited to start the journey AGAIN. I keep worrying I'll get sick of it, but I never do, and it's been about 7 years or so.
I spend the rest of the year reading (listening to) all kinds of other great books, and find that each year there is something new in SK's books that I didn't get before because I hadn't read a certain book, and now I get it - he is a very VERY well-read guy, and makes allusions to SO MANY books, it's fun to get the new connections each year!
Umm, did I mention I type like a gazillion wpm, so I kinda leave long messages? ehehe
Can't wait to see what other SK fans are talking about.
