Default Great time to be a fan.

It's unbelievable how much Mr King is releasing.. After just getting a brand new poem in Playboy, we get a new Castle Rock story in the New Yorker, and Under The Dome less than a week later. I'm so glad he retired a few years ago, it seems to have done wonders to his output. I thought he was prolific in the 80's....

and the comics coming out very soon add to that list.

But when did he officially retire?

I think he's part pro wrestler. They retire at the start of a show & then they're wrestling in the main event of the same show.

Did he actually say (or mean) fully retire? I thought he only meant 'semi-retirement'...or just slowing down a lot (which still means he'd produce more in 12 months than other writers do in 12 years).
Or, according to the blurb, UTD was 30 years in the writing, meaning a lot of it would be revised from a previous form rather than written over a certain period of time (months, or a couple of years, as seems to be the case with most of his earlier stuff). So maybe that means he's also just clearing the 'unpublished back catalogue' - sort of like Mike Noonan did in Bag of Bones.
