Susannah is 26...................
I haven't seen Hugh in anything other than the show House. He might do alright as Roland, but I'm sure there are plenty of actors that fit the part just as well.
In past seasons of House, he seems to have kind of a darker side to him, but he's more of a comedic actor from what I've seen.
I'm starting to go back to my original thought after reading the Dark Tower Speculation posts that the Dark Tower really should just be left alone as far as film goes. No real C.R., especial the DT people will ever be happy. Everyone has their own pre-conceived notion of the characters that can be filled.
I was a little skeptical of Viggo Mortensen, not because he wouldn't be a good Roland but because I prefer unknowns, it would be like Aragorn comes to MidWorld...but I just read that Javier Bardem is ahead of him for the role, so I suppose I'd better just endorse Viggo after all.
With that said, I read a suggestion on one of the gossip sites that, it didn't actually say this outright, but it implied that whatever major actor signs on for the first Dark Tower movie, might not do Roland in the TV series that follows. It didn't imply why, of course, but we know that's because many movie actors won't do TV. That's another reason to go with an unknown, to help keep the same actor doing it in both film and TV.
I'm sorry, I clearly ( hope) meant that everyones pre-conceived notions of these characters CAN NOT be met. I love the graphics and the other things being done to keep us DT junkies going. But the DT as a movie should just be left alone. Especially when you start talkin 2 different Rolands, one movie, one T.V.
my choice for Susannah:

Ok so i just watched (again) Star trek newbies with my da' last night-and while my mind wandered i began realising that the Uhuru and Kirk combination Chris Pine and zoe saldana where having a pretty good palaver together and the chemistry did work, all we need is a wheel chair and an attitude, a drug habit and BANG! no matter how I tried i could not get simon Pegg in a cowboy hat though!
